Black Stars midfielder, Salis Abdul Samed has been handed a contract extension at French Ligue side RC Lens.
The 23-year-old signed a one-year deal that will keep him at the club until June 2028, after an impressive first season with the Blood and Gold.
Having joined the club from Clermont Foot last summer, the Ghana international made 33 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring a goal as Lens finished the season in second place.
"It's only his second season as a professional. When he reaches his 5th or 6th year, he will have more maturity and a better understanding of situations. You will see a better Salis," said Lens manager, Franck Haise, as quoted by the club's website.
Abdul Samed's impressive displays earned him his first Black Stars invite in September 2022. He went on to represent Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The defensive midfielder made all three appearances as the Black Stars were eliminated in the group stages of the World Cup.
Abdul Samed finished the season as one of the best midfielders in Ligue 1, according to Get Football News France.
Abdul Samed handed three-game ban
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Abdul Samed has been handed a three-game suspension following his red card in the match against Paris Saint-Germain.
The defensive midfielder was sent off in the 19th minute after a reckless tackle on PSG defender, Achraf Hakimi.
After a review of the game by the Disciplinary Committee of the French League, Ligue 1 has suspended the 23-year-old for 3 games.

The Black Stars midfielder was red-carded after 19 minutes following a reckless tackle on the Moroccan as PSG went on to win 3-1 at the Parc des Princes.
Hakimi has been trending on social media for the past few days after unconfirmed reports revealed that his estranged ex-wife, Hiba Abouk, failed to claim half of his properties following their divorce case.
