Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has been nominated for a Ghana Football Award following his impressive performances for Napoli in the recently-concluded season, where he scored 26 league goals.
Osimhen has written his name in gold at the Naples club, with the Nigerian becoming the first African in history to win a Golden Boot award in the Serie A.
Many top clubs in Europe have taken notice of the striker's star performances, and are expected to try and persuade Napoli to part with him this summer.
According to the reports by Complete Sports and Daily Post, the organizers of the Ghana Football Award were impressed with Osimhen's games last term.
Osimhen among football award nominees
Osimhen is placed in the Best African International category along with Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez and Liverpool's Mohamed Salah.
Mahrez scored 15 goals and made 13 assists in 47 appearances for his team, who claimed both the Premier League and the FA Cup titles this season.
The Algerian could also end the term with a treble when Man City faces Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final.
Salah, on the other hand, has netted 30 goals and provided 16 assists in 51 games for the Reds.
No Ghanaian player was nominated for the award as the organisers are said to have felt none were on the level of Osimhen, Mahrez, or the Egyptian ace.
