Lionel Messi is back on the good books of some Paris Saint-Germain fans after a turbulent few weeks where supporters of the Ligue 1 champions booed him during matches.
The 35-year-old earned the wrath of PSG’s supporters after being suspended for two weeks for an unsanctioned trip to Saudi Arabia.
According to Daily Post, the angry fans took pleasure in booing the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner during his first game back following his 2-week suspension.
During PSG’S training on Friday, Messi was seen in a jolly mood and was captured waving at the few supporters chanting his name during the session.
Messi looks set to leave PSG after two seasons after declining to extend his contract beyond the summer when his current deal with the Parisians expires.
Messi eyes Ligue 1 record
Meanwhile, Lionel Messi is targeting to surpass Angel Di Maria’s highest assist tally in Ligue 1 before departing the French top division at the end of the season, Football Transfers reports.
With 16 assists to his credit this season, the 35-year-old seven-time Ballon d’Or winner aims to surpass Di Maria’s tally of 18 assists in one Ligue 1 campaign with PSG’s two remaining games.
The Parisians, who are one win away from clinching their second consecutive Ligue 1 title, will tackle Strasbourg and Clermont in their final two games of the season.
