FootballRoma Stars Give Mourinho Fitness Worries Ahead of Europa League Final Against Sevilla

- The Italian side made it to the final despite an injury-laden season
- Jose Mourinho is sweating on the fitness of two crucial stars ahead of the showpiece in Budapest
Jose Mourinho is sweating over the fitness of two AS Roma stars ahead of their UEFA Europa League final against Sevilla in Budapest on May 10.
The Special One guided the Italian capital club to a consecutive European final, having won the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League last year.
Roma are the only team that originally started the competition and have made it to the last four. Juventus, Sevilla, and Bayer Leverkusen all dropped into the competition from the UEFA Champions League.
The Giallorossi progressed after beating German opposition Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 on aggregate. Roma put up a disciplined defensive display in the second leg at the Bay Arena.
Roma’s injury doubts for final
According to Football Italia, Mourinho could be without Paulo Dybala and Georgino Wijnaldum for the final against the Europa kings Sevilla.
Due to injury, Dybala has been on and off with the squad this season. He has yet to start a game since the 1-0 win over Torino on April 8, which casts doubt on his ability to help the team next Wednesday.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Dutch midfielder Wijnaldum has no urgent injury concern, but is certainly not at 100%.
He suffered a leg break earlier in the season, which forced him to miss the World Cup in Qatar, where his country reached the quarter-final.
The two players’ futures are also in doubt at the Stadio Olimpico. Dybala has a release clause that could allow him to leave in the summer, while Gini will return to Paris Saint-Germain.
