As noted by Goal, Pirates beat AmaZulu 4-0 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban to finish second. Thabiso Monyane, Relebohile Ratomo, Monnapule Saleng, and Kabelo Dlamini all got onto the scoresheet for the Sowetan giants.

SuperSport downed by Sekhukhune

The Sea Robbers went into the game level on points with SuperSport United, but Matsatsantsa failed to finish their season with a win.

Gavin Hunt’s men were beaten 1-0 by Sekhukhune Unite, a defeat which sees them finish third in the standings. SuperSport and Sekhukhune will represent the country in next season’s CAF Confederations Cup.

Pirates fans rejoice CAF qualification

The Buccaneers supporters love the team's performances this season, especially their finish to the season. Pirates won the MTN8, finished second in the league, and still have a Nedbank Cup final to go.

Here’s how fans reacted on social media.

@Nkoskhodola_23:

"Nothing brings peace to my heart like seeing Orlando Pirates fans this happy."

@MuziBucs:

“Next week, Orlando Pirates will become the only team to have played all available matches this season. Big Team things.”

@Anelefumba:

“Next season Orlando Pirates will show Mamelodi Sundowns how to win CAF Champions League.”

@NhlivoT:

“Orlando Pirates was indeed the best team in South Africa this year. They’ve played every game domestically and still potentially to win a 2nd cup. Team of the season is Pirates. Coach of the season is Riveiro. Player of the season is Pirates. It’s a fact.”

@Lindoku26064850:

“This is the Orlando Pirates I know, and I want to see. Ruthless. Demolishing teams. Dominating the entire 90 minutes. Not allowing the opponent to breathe. Rip them apart. Creating chances. Clinical in front of goal."

Pirates battle SuperSport for second

Earlier, Sports Brief reported how the race for the second spot in the DStv Premiership will go down to the last game of the season.

Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United are tied on points and are separated by a goal difference of only two.

With the second and third place deciding who plays in the CAF Champions League and who goes to the CAF Confederations Cup, the stakes are high, but Pirates hold the advantage.
