West Ham players did more than play football yesterday against AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands- they fought to protect their families from irate fans.

The Hammers made it to the final of the second UEFA Europa Conference League after beating their Dutch opponents 3-1 on aggregate.

The game looked sealed for the English team with a 0-0 scoreline, before Spanish midfielder Pablo Fornals scored in the 94th minute to put the result beyond reasonable doubt.

According to UEFA, West Ham will meet Italian opposition ACF Fiorentina, who beat Basel 4-3 on aggregate, in the final of the second-ever Conference League in Prague on June 7.

Fans attack West Ham families

According to Mirror UK, West Ham players dived into the crowd and clashed with AZ fans, who attacked the away section where their families and friends were sitting.

Said Benrahma, Michail Antonio, Aaron Cresswell, and Flynn Downes can be seen in the video jumping over the barriers and into the VIP seats after the home fans charged at the area after their elimination.

According to Football London, David Moyes confirmed that his friends and families were attacked, including his aged father. He did not make much of it, though, as he wanted West Ham to enjoy their first European final since 1976.

Alkmaar manager Pascal Jansen claimed he feels ashamed it happened in their stadium, and apologised to the English club for the trouble, as reported by The Guardian.

Napoli fans brawled inside stadium

Sports Brief reported that Napoli fans brawled against each other inside the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona during their 4-0 loss to AC Milan.

The fans had agreed to turn their backs on the game in protest against club president Aurelio De Laurentiis, but some fans cheered the team, which led to a massive brawl.
