FootballPep Guardiola and Man City Staff Troll Real Madrid With ‘Four’ Celebration
- Pep Guardiola has appeared to enrage Real Madrid fans with a cheeky gesture in deleted photo
- The Spaniard lauded his Manchester City side on Wednesday night after they hammered Real Madrid
- Manchester City will face Inter Milan in June next month
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was quick to rub his club's success in the face of Real Madrid with a cheeky celebration on Instagram.
The Citizens were simply superb as they prevailed 4-0 against Carlo Ancelotti's team to reach the Champions League final.
A double by Bernardo Silva set Pep Guardiola's side on their way before further goals by Manuel Akanji and Julian Alvarez added gloss to the scoreline, Football Espana reported.
The Premier League leaders will face Inter Milan in Istanbul, in June, hoping to win the illustrious competition for the first time ever.
Guardiola cut his customary frenetic figure on the touchline, jubilantly applauding each goal while simultaneously showing frustration when his team led 2-0 and, for a moment, lost possession.
But it was a post-game picture, not his antics on the sidelines, that seemed to rile the Spanish club.
In a now-deleted post on Instagram from Man City staff member Manuel Estiarte, Guardiola was pictured alongside colleagues and friends with four fingers held up, Mirror Sports reported.
The gesture alludes to how many goals the Sky Blues scored against Los Blancos during their outstanding performance at the Etihad Stadium.
The photo shows Guardiola and Estiarte with other guests in a private room at the Etihad Stadium, including Pep's brother Pere Guardiola, former Argentine president Mauricio Macri, as well as Manchester City president Khaldoon Al Mubarak.
Pep clashes with De Bruyne
Meanwhile, Kevin De Bruyne clashed with Guardiola midway through the second half of Man City's clash against Real Madrid.
Dutch game abandoned after nine minutes as smoke bombs thrown
FootballThe incident happened after the Belgian playmaker lost possession to Eder Millitao before turning to his manager, shouting in anger.
While it remains unclear what sparked the spat, it is believed De Bruyne was dissatisfied with the instructions shouted at him by Pep.
Guardiola, City courting UCL glory
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Man City's time to conquer Europe may have finally come after Real Madrid were slayed by the English champions on Wednesday.
The English giants thrashed the Spanish titans 4-0 at the Etihad Stadium for a 5-1 aggregate victory that exacted revenge for a dramatic semi-final exit a year ago.
If Man City are victorious against Inter Milan in Istanbul next month, they could complete a treble of the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League.
