  • An interesting fan theory has suggested Inter Milan will beat Man City in the Champions League final
  • City set a crunch clash against Inter in the final of the tournament after they beat Real in the semis
  • Inter saw off rivals AC Milan to qualify for the final for the first time since 2010 under Mourinho

A fan has come up with a bizarre theory on why Inter Milan will beat Manchester City in this season's Champions League final.

The two heavyweights are scheduled to face off in the final of the tournament after they booked a spot in the final.

Inter sealed qualification for the final of the competition on Tuesday night after beating rivals, AC Milan, 3-0 on goal aggregate in one of the semi-final fixtures.

City, meanwhile, sailed through after overcoming reigning champions Real Madrid in the other semi-final fixture.

The Telegraph reports that Pep Guardiola's men stunned Real Madrid 5-1 on goal aggregate to keep their treble dream alive.

Theory shows Man City won't beat Inter

Despite their success in recent years, Manchester City, are yet to taste Champions League glory in the history of the club.

City came close to winning the competition in 2021 but fell short against Premier League rivals Chelsea in the final played at Estadio do Dragao in Portugal.

And it seems the English giants will have to wait a little longer before they can lay their hands on the prestigious trophy.

This is per a theory developed by a fan, which alleges Inter will beat Man City in the final because they have a Croatian in their squad.

Sportbible, citing the theory, reports that a player from Croatia has featured in every Champions League cup-winning squad in the last 10 years.

In 2013, Mario Mandzukic helped Bayern Munich lift the European football prize, with fellow countryman Luka Modric featuring during Real Madrid's triumphs in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2022.

In 2021, it was Mateo Kovacic's turn, with the midfielder winning the tournament with Chelsea.

Of the two teams playing in the UCL final this season, only Inter has a Croatian player in the shape of midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

With his presence, fans contend Inter have an upper hand in seeing off Man City in the final.

De Bruyne, Pep clash at Etihad Stadium

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Kevin De Bruyne and Pep Guardiola clashed midway through the second half of Man City's clash against Real Madrid.

The incident happened after the Belgian playmaker lost possession to Eder Millitao before turning to his manager, shouting in anger.

While it remains unclear what sparked the spat, it is believed De Bruyne was dissatisfied with the instructions shouted at him by Pep.
