Osimhen's goals this season

The former Lille striker has scored 23 goals this term in the Serie A. Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez sits second on the log with 20 goals - he is also hoping to finish as the top scorer.

Ibrahimovic's record in Serie A

According to the reports by Pulse and Soccernet, the Serie A has not had a player win both the golden boot and the league title in the same season since 2008/09, when Ibrahimovic claimed both honours with Inter Milan.

In that season, the mighty Swede finished with 25 goals, ahead of Diego Milito on 24 goals.

Napoli want to retain Osimhen

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Nigerian international Osimhen could remain at Napoli for yet another season, amid interest from Premier League clubs including Chelsea.

The new champions of Italy are reportedly desperate for the striker to stay for another season and have identified him as a critical component of retaining the Scudetto in the next term.

Italian publication, La Repubblica reported via Tutto Napoli that the club are considering an Edinson Cavani-style arrangement to retain Osimhen, who they value at a cool €150 million.
