Nigerian star, Victor Osimhen, led the celebrations after Napoli were crowned champions of Italy for the first time in 33 years.

The Super Eagles striker scored the goal that won Napoli the title after their 1-1 draw against Udinese on Thursday night.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Osimhen is seem screaming in excitement as he celebrates the moment with his teammates.

The Naples outfit defied all odds to win the championship after a long wait with the Nigerian forward at the centre of their success, scoring 22 league goals this season.

In a highly pulsating encounter, Sandi Lovric gave the hosts, Udinese, an early lead before Osimhen levelled in the second half.

His goal was enough for Napoli, who have had an incredible campaign.

Osimhen currently leads the golden boot race and could win the goal king award with five games remaining. He also toppled Cameroon legend Samuel Eto'o to become the first African player to score the most goals in a season in the Serie A.

Osimhen joined Napoli from French outfit Lille in 2020 and has since been a cult hero in the Southern Italian city.

Napoli end Serie A title wait

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Napoli finally ended their long wait to win Italy's Serie A on Thursday after a 1-1 draw at Udinese secured their third league title with a record-equalling five games to play.

Thousands of fans in Udine, at the Stadio Maradona in Naples and all around southern Italy's biggest city exploded with joy at the final whistle as 33 years of waiting came to an end.

Supporters streamed onto the pitch at the Dacia Arena to celebrate after a season dominated by Luciano Spalletti's side, creating moments of tension with home fans not happy at such open partying on their ground.
