Real Madrid have reportedly identified RB Leipzig attacker Dani Olmo as a possible replacement for Marco Asensio amid the ongoing speculation surrounding the Spaniard.

Asensio has been linked with a move away from Los Blancos as he has just one year remaining on his contract.

The Spaniard joined Madrid in 2014 from Mallorca and has made 235 appearances for the club, scoring 49 goals during that time.

According to AS, Real Madrid are preparing for the possibility of Asensio moving on, and the club have identified Olmo as a potential replacement in the upcoming market.

Olmo's future at club level is also unclear, with the Spain international's Leipzig contract due to expire in the summer of 2024, which has led to recent exit speculation.

United, Barcelona chase Olmo

Manchester United and Barcelona have also been heavily linked with the versatile attacker, who has scored five goals and registered nine assists in 28 appearances at club level this term.

Sports Mole reported that Leipzig are not prepared to let Olmo enter the final year of his deal, so the forward will be sold this summer if he decides against signing a new contract.

The offer on the table would allegedly make the attacker one of the best-paid players at his German club, but he is thought to be keen to seek new pastures ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

Asensio scores a stunner

Sports Brief reported earlier that Marco Asensio's long-range effort paved the way for Real Madrid to pick all three points at stake against Valencia.

After huffing and puffing to no avail in the first half, Asensio finally broke the deadlock for Carlo Ancelotti's men seven minutes after recess.

Having been handed his first start since January 22, the Spanish forward repaid the confidence reposed in him by Ancelotti with a stunning drive.
