  • Eden Hazard has named the club he will play for next season
  • Hazard signed a £400,000-per-week deal when he joined from Chelsea in 2019
  • The Belgian has struggled in Madrid and has played just 337 minutes this season

Eden Hazard has revealed he has no intention of leaving Real Madrid before his contract runs out in 2024.

The 32-year-old became Los Blancos’ most expensive signing when he joined the Santiago Bernabeu outfit from Chelsea in a £130million deal in 2019.

But Hazard has struggled with form and fitness since moving to Madrid and has been a shadow of the player who established his reputation at Stamford Bridge.

Per Talk Sports, the ex-Belgium playmaker has made just one league start this season and was an unused substitute in Real Madrid’s 2-1 over Osasuna in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday night.

Hazard accepts that his season hasn’t gone to plan but confirmed he plans to see out his with the La Liga giants.

“It’s been a difficult year, but with a very big team,” the 32-year-old told Cadena SER, per the Daily Mail.
“Honestly, I’m planning to stay at Real Madrid next season. I expect to stay as I want to celebrate the last year of the contract I have left.
“I have a good relationship with the club and with the players too. I want to play, but I know it’s very difficult. I have to work and hope I can play more.”

Unhappy Hazard

Meanwhile, the Real Madrid squad switched into a jubilant mood following their Copa del Rey triumph and gleefully posed for a team photo on the podium.

But one player, Eden Hazard, did not seem happy, perhaps with himself, despite adding another title to his growing trophy cabinet during his stint with Madrid.

Hazard has endured a bittersweet time with the La Liga giants, winning every possible trophy with Real Madrid but has seen game time being few and far between, especially under Carlo Ancelotti.

Hazard nets hattrick while intoxicated

Sports Brief reported that former France international Rio Mavuba has shared an interesting tale about out-of-favour Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard.

Before becoming the global icon he is now, Hazard used to run defenders amok in the French Ligue 1 with LOSC Lille.

After announcing his departure via a cryptic message on social media, Hazard bagged a hattrick against Nancy to bow out in style. However, the circumstances leading to his sensational performance in his last game have now been brought to light.
