"Very sad to have abandoned the team in this way. I apologize to those I disappointed and to Achraf Hakimi. I had no bad intentions and I really regret, I apologize to all Lensois," he wrote on Twitter.

Hakimi admitted it's part of football and wished the Ghanaian the best of the rest of the campaign.

"These are things that happen in football. Good luck for the rest of the season!," wrote the Moroccan.

Salis will miss the games against AS Monaco and Toulouse following his sending off against PSG.

The French champions are on course to defend their title after opening a nine-point lead over their contenders with the 3-1 win.

Fans react after Samed Salis' red card

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Football fans have taken to social media to react after Ghanaian midfielder Abdul Samed Salis was sent off in the game between RC Lens and PSG for a tackle on Achraf Hakimi.

The Black Stars midfielder was red carded after 19 minutes following a reckless tackle on the Moroccan as PSG went on to win 3-1 at the Parc de Princes.

Hakimi has been trending on social media for the past few days after unconfirmed reports revealed that his estranged ex-wife, Hiba Abouk, failed to claim half of his properties following their divorce case.

Messi to leave PSG

Lionel Messi is "much more likely" to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season than sign a new deal, a source close to the club told AFP on Tuesday.

"The dynamics have completely changed with PSG less pushing to renew (his contract)," the source said, adding that there was "no deal, no exit yet. But exit is much more likely."

World Cup winner Messi, who will turn 36 in June, joined in 2021 on a two-year deal which expires at the end of this campaign.
