Joao Felix could be back in Madrid in the summer when his loan move expire, as he has not impressed in his short time in London. Perhaps that is what the fans think. The hierarchy may think otherwise.

The Portuguese started alongside English winger Raheem Sterling in attack as caretaker manager Frank Lampard opted for a 3-5-2 formation, deploying a midfield trio of Enzo Fernandez, N'golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic.

Real Madrid took the lead in the first half through Ballon d'Or holder Karim Benzema who slotted home after Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga spilt a shot onto his path.

Bar Enzo Fernandez, the whole team was lacklustre, but the fans felt let down the most by their attack and wanted Felix, the loanee player, returned and his move not made permanent.

Fans rip into Joao Felix

According to Guardian, the 23-year-old extended his Atletico Madrid contract until 2027 before joining the Blues until the end of the season for a £9.6m loan fee.

Chelsea are thought to be interested in retaining him despite Atletico demanding a fee in excess of £86m to make the move permanent in the summer, as reported by Football London.

Fans have had enough and want the loan ended at the end of the season after another poor outing against Real Madrid and just two goals in 12 appearances in London.

@miKKe_E86 tweeted:

''Keeping Felix is a bad decision. It is waste of resources and a sign that the club is now very confused.''

Felix unsure of Chelsea future

Sports Brief reported that Felix expressed doubts over his Chelsea future due to a lack of buy option or obligation in his loan move and will rely on the two clubs finding an agreement.

The Portuguese is happy in London and wants to stay beyond his loan, but Rojiblancos demands could put Chelsea off, coupled with his performances.
