Ghana's Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif has outlined the four main targets set for Black Stars coach Chris Hughton.
Hughton was appointed Ghana coach in February after agreeing to a 21-month contract with the Football Association.
The former Brighton & Hove Albion manager has already started work as Black Stars coach, leading the team in the AFCON qualifiers against Angola.
Mr Ussif during his presentation at the 2023 Ramadan Cup launch disclosed that the coach has been tasked to qualify Ghana for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations as well as the World Cup in 2026.

“The objectives are set by the FA for him to ensure that we qualify for AFCON and also to ensure that we identify local talents from our league,” he said, as quoted by Pulse.
“To also ensure that we qualify for the World Cup and also to make sure that our ranking in the FIFA Ranking improves. These are the objectives in the contract that he has signed.”
Ghana has not won the Africa Cup of Nations since 1982 despite reaching the finals three times.
Chris Hughton unveiled as Ghana coach
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Chris Hughton has been unveiled as the new coach of Ghana's senior national team, the Black Stars.
The former Brighton & Hove Albion manager will be in charge of the Black Stars until December 2024.

Appiah laments over Ghana football
Former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah has expressed disappointment over the current state of Ghanaian football.
The ex-Juventus and Fenerbahçe star believes former players and legends of the country should be involved in the running of the game.
Appiah's recent involvement with the national team was when he played the role of team manger under former coach Kwesi Appiah.
