The future of Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu at Southampton has come under serious scrutiny after the centre-back was left out of the Saints last two games in the English Premier League.
The 23-year-old was earlier reported to have picked an injury following his return from international duty in March.
However, Salisu trained with the team before the games against West Ham United and Manchester City.
According to The Athletic, Salisu's omission from the matchday squads in the previous games was due to his lack of commitment.

The former Real Valladolid defender is believed to be reluctant in committing to his future at Saint Mary's with a little over 12 months remaining on his current deal.
And with Manchester United and Newcastle United reportedly interested in his services, Salisu could be forcing his way out of the club this summer as Southampton stares at relegation.
Meanwhile, The Sun reveals Salisu's previous agency JM 10, has been acquired by CAA Base, leading to prolonged talks over a new deal.
Salisu has made 28 appearances for the Saints in the English Premier League.
He joined Southampton in the summer of 2020 from Spanish outfit Real Valladolid.
Newcastle United interested in Salisu
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Black Stars centre-back, Mohammed Salisu has popped up on the radar of Newcastle United ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Southampton defender is reportedly on the wish list of the Magpies' manager, Eddie Howe after trying to sign him in January.

West Ham United striker, Michail Antonio has disclosed that Ghana and Southampton centre-back, Mohammed Salisu is the toughest player he has faced in the English Premier League.
Antonio is regarded as one of the strongest players to defend against in the English topflight league.
However, he always finds it difficult playing Salisu anytime West Ham engages Southampton. The last time the two sides met it ended in a 1-1 draw, with the Black Stars defender nullifying the Jamaican.
