Super Falcons’ Jersey for 2023 Women’s World Cup Unveiled by Nike

  • The 2023 Women's World Cup will be hosted by New Zealand and Australia from July 20 onward
  • The Super Falcons of Nigeria will participate and Nike has unveiled the jersey the team will use

Sportswear giants, Nike have unveiled the jersey the Super Falcons players will use for their campaign at the 2023 Women's World Cup.

The Nigerian Football Federation have been partnering with Nike for some years now, with the brand also supplying the kits used by the Super Eagles at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The new jersey for the Super Falcons designed by Nike - unveiled officially on April 3 - features two colours and designs.

The home jersey is styled in fluorescent green and is similar to the one the Super Eagles used at the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea and Japan.

The away kit is a deep shade of green which is decorated with kaleidoscopic patterns, coupled with pinkish-orange playing socks.

Reacting to the new development, Super Falcons forward, Rasheedat Ajibade expressed happiness at the designs.

She also confirmed her readiness to make the country proud at the Women's World Cup.

World Cup: countdown is underway

Australia and New Zealand will co-host this year's Women's World Cup, with the tournament scheduled to start on July 20.

Nigeria are in Group B and will face Australia, Canada, and the Republic of Ireland for a place in the next round.

Ex-Arsenal star eager for Falcons

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported on former Arsenal winger, Brooke Nunn indicating her interest in switching allegiance to play for the Super Falcons of Nigeria.

Her mother is half-Nigerian with a family based in Lagos and her grandfather, Jackson Asiboje is one of the directors of a shipping company based in Apapa.

Born and bred in London, Nunn was snapped up by the Arsenal academy at a tender age and rose up through the ranks to feature for the club’s female first team.
