Victor Osimhen is now on the verge of surpassing the goal records of Odion Ighalo and Ahmed Musa in the Super Eagles with hours to the AFCON qualifying game against Guinea Bissau.

The Napoli striker has been the shining light so far this season in the Italian Serie A thanks to his incredible goalscoring form for his club who are topping the League standings.

Osimhen is also leading the goal chart in Italy with 21 goals and could become the first Nigerian in history to win the Golden Boot award in the Serie A.

What Osimhen stands to gain

Osimhen has already registered 15 goals for the Super Eagles after 23 games and he is just two more away from surpassing Ighalo and captain, Musa.

Ighalo who has featured in 37 games for Nigeria has netted 16 goals, while Musa, with 107 appearances also has 16 goals.

Should Osimhen score a brace against Guinea Bissau, then the Napoli man would then be thinking on how he can equal Rashidi Yekini's record according to the report on Punch.

The late Yekini remains the Super Eagles leading scorer with 37 goals and no player has been able to equal his record since he passed.

Osimhen spotted dancing

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Osimhen was spotted showing his dancing skills inside the Super Eagles camp during the initiation of three new players ahead of the tie against Guinea Bissau.

All invited players have already arrived at camp in Abuja and have started training at the MKO Abiola stadium which is the venue of the first leg encounter between in the AFCON qualifiers.

Osimhen arrived on Tuesday evening hours after sealing an endorsement deal in Lagos where he is now an ambassador of Dettol soap.
