According to the report on Complete Sports, Babangida reminded Peseiro the importance of selecting the best legs for the games.

Statement made by Babangida

“This is a game the team must win considering the fact that Guinea-Bissau are just two points below the Super Eagles.
“The technical crew must deploy his best players against Guinea-Bissau so that the team can pick the maximum points. There should be no room for experimentation at this point in time.”

Finidi, Shorunmu leave Super Eagles camp

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Finidi George and Ike Shorunmu were told by the Nigerian Football Federation not to return to the Super Eagles camp ahead of the double-header against Guinea Bissau.

Players have been arriving at the camp in Abuja in recent days, with the likes of Francis Uzoho, Alex Iwobi, and Ademola Lookman already preparing while the coaching team awaits the rest of the team.

George has been an assistant to head coach, Jose Peseiro since he took over from Augustine Eguavoen while Shorunmu has been working as a goalkeeping coach.

Interestingly, he is also the gaffer of Nigerian Professional Football League side, Enyimba.
