- There has been a breakthrough in the burglary of Liverpool's Mohamed Salah
- Two men have been arrested in connection with the crime at his home in Cairo
- Many goods stolen in the burglary were also recovered during the duo's arrest
Two men have been arrested in connection with the burglary that took place at Egyptian superstar, Mohamed Salah's home.
Egypt's Ministry of Interior confirmed that one of the suspects happened to have been a former guard at the Cairo residential complex where the Liverpool winger lives.
BBC Sport Africa reported several goods stolen during the crime have been recovered as well. These include Salah's boots as well as a medal.
This would come as cold comfort for the Liverpool star, as his side was eliminated 6-2 on aggregate by Real Madrid in their Champions League Round of 16 tie on Wednesday night, Eurosport reported.

Karim Benzema's strike saw Los Blancos down the Reds 1-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, completing a third consecutive elimination of the Merseyside team in the competition.
The reverse scoreline was the infamous 5-2 at Anfield two weeks ago.
Salah's house in Egypt burgled
Sports Brief previously reported on Salah's house in Egypt being burgled by thieves who made off with satellite receivers and other items.
His cousin, who passed by the house in the Fifth Settlement of Cairo, noticed the windows were open and soon discovered the crime.
This is not the first time the footballer has been a victim of crime. In 2020, his family home was burgled and the thief was caught days later.
Rashford sets up security company
Premier League mascots: Who is the best mascot in the EPL?
FootballSports Brief also reported on Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford establishing a security company to help his fellow stars tackle home break-ins.
The English striker saw that crime had been on the rise with stars like Kyle Walker, Raheem Sterling, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all victims in recent months.
Unfortunately for Salah, this solution would not be of any comfort as the Liverpool star's home is in another country and on another continent.
