The manager joins other Barcelona stars like Ousmane Dembele, Gavi and Pedri, who have also been ruled out Valencia clash with suspension or injuries, SB Nation reports.

Raphinha was also booked after taking a free kick too early and it was reported that he would also be suspended.

Xavi: Almeria loss 'the worst'

Meanwhile, Xavi has described Barcelona’s shock loss to Almeria on Sunday as the club’s worst game of the 2022/23 season so far, Football Espana reports.

The La Liga leaders missed the chance to move 10 points clear of Real Madrid after they suffered their second loss of the season to the mid-table La Liga side.

El Bilal Toure scored a crucial goal in the match to end Barcelona’s 13-game unbeaten streak in the league and put a dent in their push for this season's title.

Barcelona is considering sacking Xavi

Sports Brief also reported on Xavi's reign as Barcelona coach facing an abrupt end after another disastrous campaign in Europe under the Spaniard.

The Catalans’ dream of lifting another European title suffered a major blow after they were booted out of the Europa League by Manchester United.

Xavi reportedly has the backing of the Barcelona board for now despite his failings in Europe, as the hierarchy sees winning La Liga as a priority.
