As per Goal, they are poised to break the PSL points record set by Pitso Mosimane's Masandawana team in the 2015/16 season.

Despite claims that the team's success is solely due to their substantial financial resources, Mokwena's former colleague, Wedson Nyirenda, has refuted these notions, praising the young tactician's exceptional abilities.

Nyirenda stressed Mokwena's passion and innovation as the real drivers of his accomplishments.

"It’s easy for me to say he is a perfect example of a coach with a passion for the game. The young man learns and grows every day. His determination and quest for success is so immense, and he’s going to be one of the greatest coaches your country has ever produced," he said, as quoted by SportsBoom.

The Zanaco FC coach, pointed out that Mokwena's success is not solely dependent on Sundowns' financial resources. He also acknowledged that they are in regular contact, exchanging ideas and insights.

Nyirenda praised Mokwena's ability to bring together players from diverse backgrounds and mould them into a cohesive, high-performing unit.

Mokwena sets record straight on Lorch

Sports Brief reported that Mokwena responded to queries about Thembinkosi Lorch's playing time, which some believe is unfair and has been influenced by their friendship.

The midfielder, who joined the club in January, has been criticized for his lacklustre performances so far, with some suggesting he hasn't justified the time he receives.

Mokwena brushed off the suggestions, stressing that his focus is on the team's success, not personal relationships.
