Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland believes Kylian Mbappe is 'one of the best' players in the modern era.

Both Mbappe and Haaland have been tipped to take over the football mantle from Al-Nassr forward, Cristiano Ronaldo and Paris Saint-Germain playmaker, Lionel Messi.

The pair have not looked back since bursting onto the scene as teenage prodigies, smashing records at will.

Recently, Mbappe etched his name in PSG folklore, becoming the joint all-time top scorer of the club by equalling Edinson Cavani's club record of 200 goals, according to GOAL.

For context, the 24-year-old achieved his latest milestone in 54 games less than the Uruguayan, to underline his dizzying success at such a tender age.

Discussing the meteoric rise of Mbappe and his phenomenal performance in the past few seasons, Erling Haaland described the Frenchman with glowing words.

"There are so many good players and Kylian is one of them. He is so strong! The French are so lucky," Haaland said via Football Tweet.

The 22-year-old Norwegian poacher added:

"I wish he had played for Norway, honestly! He's so fast and so strong that he's only two years older than me."

Mbappe named 'best in world'
