A Nigerian football player Uche Onwuasonya did the unthinkable after scoring in Plateau United’s 5-0 thrashing of El Kanemi Warriors in a Nigeria Professional Football League game.

The former Flying Eagles star ran the entire length of the pitch to find and celebrate with his girlfriend, receiving a kiss.

Onwuasonya had sent the fans into the wilds when he scored a screamer; and amid applauses from the fans, the player dashed towards the stands where his lover was seated.

Cameras captured the moment he beaconed on her to come towards him as they shared a kiss, to the delight of the football fans watching.

Akwa United players escape robbery attack

Sports Brief earlier reported that suspected armed robbers laid ambush on the convoy of Akwa United team as the players and officials returned home after honouring Nigeria Professional Football League Matchday 5 against Kwara United.

It was gathered that the terrifying incident happened along the Ogoni Road in Rivers State on Thursday, February 2.

The attackers pelted the vehicles, smashed the windows and ran after them, which led to one vehicle running into another, but no life was lost.
