Liverpool fans made an uncanny observation about Jurgen Klopp’s celebrations at full time after the win in the Merseyside derby.

The Reds secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Sean Dyche’s Everton thanks to goals from Mohammed Salah and January signing Cody Gakpo.

In truth, Everton had initially done a great job in keeping their neighbors at bay but were caught out in the 36th minute with a devastating counterattack that was finished off by Salah.

At the final whistle, Klopp celebrated in front of The Kop with his classic fist pumps, only this time, they were not as electric.

Fans instantly noticed the difference and were quick to point out Jurgen Klopp was relieved more than anything.

“Pure relief in the Jurgen Klopp celebrations at the end there. Big result that, but it has to be the start of something now. It has to be.” One fans said.
“You could feel the relief in those fist pumps from Klopp.” Another added.
“Klopp's fist pumps at the end was what we missed for so long. There was a sense of relief in there.”Said another fan.

What Klopp said after the game

In his post-match interview, the German also admitted it was a huge relief to get their first Premier League win of 2023.

"The result is massive relief," He said.
"The better you play the more likely you will score. The whole performance was extremely important for us because we needed to make a statement."

Next for Liverpool is a tricky away fixture against Newcastle United on February 18 before a crunch clash against Real Madrid three days later in the Champions League.

Andy Robertson clashes with Jordan Pickford

Sports Brief also reported on an interesting incident in the Merseyside derby involving left back Andy Robertson and Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Towards the tail end of the game, Andy Robertson had a minor confrontation with Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford which in turn led to players from both sides engaging in the bust-up.

Pickford walked over to Robertson and budged him in an attempt to quickly get the ball rolling as Sean Dyche's men attempted to get back into the game.
