FootballWest London Derby: Chelsea Fans Turn on One Player After Shambolic First Half
- Chelsea Fans did not hold back in their criticism of Marc Cucurella during the West London derby
- Cururella was accused of ball-watching as Chelsea conceded an equalizer against the Hammers
- The former Brighton man has not had the best of starts to life at Stamford Bridge after signing for the club in the summer
Chelsea fans all said the same thing about Marc Cucurella after a shambolic first half against West Ham United on Saturday, February 11.
Cucurella only joined the Blues in the summer of 2022 in Chelsea’s record breaking spending spree for £62million from Brighton.
He was initially brought to deputise Ben Chilwell but eventually made the first XI because of Chilwell’s consistent injury concerns.
Interestingly, Graham Potter followed Cucurella to Chelsea in September 2022 but the pair have failed to find the success they enjoyed at Brighton.

“What is he doing?”
Cucurella’s struggles manifested themselves once again on Saturday as he was slated online by fans for what they termed an average performance by the full back.
Joao Felix got off the mark for the Blues with a beautiful goal after combining with another January signing Enzo Fernandez.
West Ham however got back in the game in the 26th minute as Emerson Palmieri snuck in the back post to tap in a cross from Vladimir Coufal.
Fans were quick to notice Cucurella’s part in the concession of the goal as the player was pretty much still at the time Coufal sent in the cross.
Here are some of the reactions from fans:
