David Beckham obviously has huge respect for Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi and has named him as his favourite player to watch.

Beckham is full of praise for the 35-year-old Argentina international who only recently guided his home nation to the 2022 FIFA World Cup trophy in Qatar.

The former Real Madrid icon in a recent interview picked Messi whom he says is definitely one of the greatest of all time ahead of former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to Goal, Beckham will be hoping to see Messi play on for many more years as he believes the former Barcelona star still has lots to offer to football.

Meanwhile, David Beckham is seeking to persuade Lionel Messi to join his club, Inter Miami, in Major League Soccer when he leaves Paris Saint-Germain, PSG Talk reports.

The MLS side is one of several top teams around the world interested in the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner whose current contract with PSG is set to expire in June.

Messi is yet to decide on his next steps as it pertains to his future although the 2022 World Cup winner recently turned down an opportunity to extend his contract with PSG.
