As noted by Sportskeeda, some Arsenal fans ripped into the Belgian after the incident with the captain, however some of the Gunners fans viewed things differently and berated the captain.

As revealed by a video posted on Twitter by ESPN FC, Lokonga tracked the run of Bernardo Silva, while leaving Julian Alvarez free to roam, much to the dismay of Odegaard.

Some Arsenal fans do not agree with the captain and claimed he should have been the one making sure the World Cup winner is not a free man.

A bit of an overreaction there. That passing lane was cut off anyways and he didn’t have to be that animated about it.

Lokonga actually tracked back to pick a city player..Odegard was just frustrated and thats all

I watched parts of the game but can someone give a little explanation of lokongas bad performance/ or what he needs to improve on

Honestly I think odegaard should have been the one marking that particular man and lokonga could have been a bit tighter to the runner but overall he was covering the right area

But it is Odegaard who was wrongly positioned. He should have picked the player on his left….he dismantled the defending shape(isosceles triangle).

Sambi was tracking the runner. Had to. Odegaard could have dropped, he didn't. He has to make a choice if he's going to press the ball or sit back.

The 23-year-old Belgian walked off the pitch at half-time and straight to the dressing room without clapping the away fans, with many suggesting he wants out of the club, as noted by Express.

Odegaard show off against Man Utd

Sports Brief earlier reported that Martin Odegaard showed off brilliant skill against Manchester United in the 3-2 win at Emirates stadium and had fans fuming.

The former Real Madrid star has been a revelation for the Gunners this season after making his loan move permanent and is leading the Gunners charge for a first title in 19 years.

He replaced Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as captain after the Gabonese was dropped and banished for disciplinary reasons.
