- Vincent Aboubakar scored a beautiful lobbed goal on his second debut at Besiktas
- The goal was chalked off as offside as the Cameroon striker continued in Turkey
- Cristiano Ronaldo, who took his place at Al-Nassr, had a very contrasting evening
Vincent Aboubakar marked his Besiktas return with a wonderful goal, which was agonisingly ruled out for an offside call.
The Cameroon captain debuted for the second time for the Turkish giants, as he started their Super Lig match against Alanyaspor on January 27.
Cenk Tosun opened the scoring from the spot after 20 minutes. 16 minutes later, Aboubakar thought he had doubled the lead, only for the Video Assistant Referee to rule it out.
A long ball was floated upwards and the 31-year-old benefitted from a layoff, to lift the ball over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net. His celebrations were soon halted after a quick review.

Despite the minor hiccup, Besiktas proved to be too strong for their opponents at the Vodafone Park. Tosun scored his second in the second half, with Dele Alli adding a third one.
Aboubakar's disallowed goal brought back memories of the goal he scored at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, lobbing the ball past Serbia's goalkeeper, Vanja Milinkonvic-Savic.
This comes at a time when his replacement at Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo continues to struggle. The veteran endured a difficult evening, as his side crashed out of the Saudi Cup at the hands of Al-Ittihad.
Coach blames Ronaldo for exit
Al-Nassr coach, Rudi Garcia has appeared to blame Ronaldo for his side's elimination from the Saudi Super Cup. The team bowed out of the competition at the semi-final stage, following a 3-1 loss to Al-Ittihad on Thursday evening.

In-form Brazilian, Anderson Talisca managed to halve the deficit with 23 minutes left on the clock, only for Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti to quench any hopes of a comeback, as Al-Ittihad punched a ticket to the final.
Reflecting on his side's exit, as reported by Sports Brief, Garcia identified a chance missed by Ronaldo as the moment which turned the tie away from Al-Nassr's favour.
