Al-Nassr coach, Rudi Garcia has appeared to put the blame for his side's elimination from the Saudi Super Cup on Cristiano Ronaldo.

Garcia's charges, led by their new superstar, bowed out of the competition at the semi-final stage following a 3-1 loss to Al-Ittihad on Thursday evening.

Romarinho broke the deadlock after 15 minutes before Moroccan striker, Abderrazak Hamdallah doubled the lead for Al-Ittihad just before half-time.

In-form Brazilian, Anderson Talisca managed to halve the deficit with 23 minutes left on the clock, only for Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti to quench any hopes of a comeback, as Al-Ittihad punched a ticket to the final, per MARCA.

Reflecting on his side's exit, Garcia identified a chance missed by Ronaldo as the moment which turned the tie away from Al-Nassr's favour.

"One of the things that changed the course of the match was Cristiano Ronaldo's missed opportunity in the first half," the ex-Olympique Lyon coach told reporters, as quoted by SportBIBLE.

However, Garcia was quick to congratulate Al-Ittihad on the win.

"[Al-Ittihadd] presented a much better first half than us, and we played a good second half, but unfortunately, we were not able to adjust the result."

Following a 3-1 loss against Al-Ittihad, Al-Nassr exited the Saudi Super Cup and delayed more silverware for the veteran.
