Ronaldo begins Saudi sojourn with win
Cristiano Ronaldo made a winning start to life in the Saudi Pro League as he led Al Nassr to a 1-0 victory over Ettifaq on Sunday in his first match since becoming the best-paid footballer in history.
The Portuguese superstar took time to get going but there were promising signs for Al Nassr, who are eyeing domestic and continental silverware after the 37-year-old moved for a deal totalling more than 400 million euros.
Ronaldo, leading out Al Nassr as captain, made a low-key start in the first half, twice losing the ball with attempted trickery as his teammates struggled to get him on the ball.
CR7's sublime skill causes defender to fall
Sports Brief earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo produced one of the highlight reels during Al-Nassr's narrow win over Al-Etiffaq.
The Portuguese maestro rolled back the years to pull a sublime skill from his trickery chest, much to the cheer of the fans at the MrSool Park.
Ronaldo outsmarted his marker by shaping to shoot only to chop back in characteristic fashion, which saw his marker helplessly fall to the pitch.
