Messi at 35, and Modric at 37, have won numerous trophies in the twilight of their careers, playing significant roles for their respective teams Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
According to Sportskeeda, Alaba - who plays alongside Modric at Real Madrid - has revealed that the longevity of both players is based on their experience.
"Experience plays a hugely important role in football. When you're young, you have the freshness. Later, you are calm and think more strategically."
