''Edouard Mendy has undergone an operation on a fractured finger sustained in training this week. The 30 year old will work closely with the club's medical department during his rehabilitation phase,'' the club statement reads.

Mendy wanted by Tottenham

Sports Brief earlier reported that Tottenham want Mendy as Lloris replacement. The 36 year old French goalkeeper is nearing the end of his 11 years stint at the English capital.

Spurs want to make a move across London in search of a goalkeeper and have identified the 30 year former Rennes goalkeeper who is on a contract standoff with Chelsea, as revealed by Sports Mole.

Kepa blasted for City error

Sports Brief also reported that Chelsea fans blasted goalkeeper Kepa for his error that cost the club in the 1-0 loss to Manchester City.

The Blues held on against Pep Guardiola's men for close to an hour but two substitutes combined to score a goal that ensured victory for City as they kept chasing Arsenal.

Kepa failed to deal with Jack Grealish's cross which sailed across goal and Riyad Mahrez tapped home at the far post. Chelsea fans on social media ripped into the goalkeeper who has had a mixed fortune at the club.
