  • Alex Iwobi seems to have found his form under manager Frank Lampard at Everton Football Club
  • The Nigerian international, however, played poorly in their 4-1 loss to Brighton at Goodison Park
  • Facts have it that the former Arsenal man is worth more than the entire Brighton Starting XI of the match

Nigerian international Alex Iwobi who is worth £35million is said to be more expensive than the Starting XI of English Premier League side Brighton.

The Everton midfielder is said to cost £9million more than the entire Brighton squad that humbled the Toffees at Goodison Park on Tuesday night.

Frank Lampard's team lost 4-1 at Goodison Park as the Chelsea legend is now under intense pressure to perform, get the results, or he gets the boot.

The Super Eagles star has improved since Lampard was appointed manager of the club, and he has been able to attract interest from other teams.

Punch reports that the entire Brighton side that rocked up north to batter the Toffees 4-1 in their own backyard on Tuesday night cost a total of £26m.

And of that total, a large chunk of that is taken up by summer signing Pervis Estupinan – who cost the south-coast side £15m from Villarreal and replaced Marc Cucurella, sold for £62m to Chelsea.

Iwobi told to remain at Everton

Meanwhile, ex-internationals Sunday Oliseh and Dosu Joseph have urged midfielder Alex Iwobi to remain at English Premier League club Everton.

Iwobi’s recent form has stunned fans and pundits, and a number of clubs have now set sights on signing him as soon as the January Transfer Window opens.

Sunday Oliseh who was on assignment at the 2022 FIFA World Cup as a member of the FIFA Technical Study Group believes the former Arsenal forward has transformed under Lampard and should remain at Goodison Park.

Iwobi reveals how Benitez ordered him out of Everton

Sports Brief earlier reported that Iwobi opened up on how Spanish manager Rafael Benitez told him to leave Goodison Park, saying he was not good enough.

The Nigerian international joined the Toffees in the summer of 2019 from Arsenal, and many had considered him a flop at his new club.

The 26-year-old disclosed that Benitez once advised him to leave, saying he does not have guaranteed playing time.
