Nigerian striker, Taiwo Awoniyi has expressed happiness and also thanked God for the chance he had to score the winning goal for Nottingham Forest, in their Premier League win over Southampton on Wednesday night, December 4.
It was a tough game for Awoniyi and his teammates, considering the fact that they were playing at the Saints' home turf in front of legions of opposition fans.
The visitors started the match impressively, and could have even scored the opener in the sixth minute. Ryan Yates located Brennan Johnson with a fine pass, but his shot was blocked by Southampton goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu.

Johnson made up for his earlier miss by providing a brilliant assist, for Awoniyi to score in the 27th minute.

The hosts had many chances to restore parity and only have themselves to blame, with the likes of Che Adams, Romeo Lavia and Mohammed Salisu all missing good chances.
Awoniyi's goal eventually turned out to be the winner for Nottingham Forest.
