Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi has been spotted celebrating his Man of the Match award for Nottingham Forest, after their Premier League game against Chelsea.

It was a tough match for Awoniyi and his teammates, who played in front of their fans to a hard-fought 1-1 draw.

Awoniyi, the star signing for Forest from Union Berlin at the start of the season, was given the key role to lead their attack against the Stamford Bridge landlords.

Who scored the first goal?

Raheem Sterling scored in the 16th minute to put Chelsea in front, as Forest went to the half-time break a goal down.

The hosts fought back hard and got their breakthrough in the 63rd minute through Serge Aurier, but were unable to find the winner.

Awoniyi was an outlet for Forest all game, chasing down loose balls and using his physicality against the Blues' backline.

Fans of the home side were impressed and applauded the Nigerian when he was substituted in the 88th minute.

After the game, Awoniyi celebrated with his parents and other members of his family, and gave his wife a kiss.

Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro was also at the stadium to celebrate with the rising star.

Taiwo Awoniyi bags UK degree

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported on Nigerian international Awoniyi completing his degree at the Buckinghamshire New University in Wycombe, in the United Kingdom.

According to close sources, the Nottingham Forest striker qualified in the field of Business Management. Nigerian journalist Ojora Babatunde took to Twitter to celebrate the former Liverpool player on September 7.

Awoniyi bagged the degree a few days after his fellow in the Super Eagles and Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi also completed his studies. The Nigerian international reportedly completed his degree with De Montfort University in Leicester, in the UK.
