Black Stars goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi has been voted the best player in the first round of the Swiss Football League.
The Ghana international beat competition from Cedric Itten of Young Boys, Servette FC's David Douline, Koro Kone of Yverdon FC and Valon Fazlu of FC Aarau to win the award.
Ati Zigi has been in sensational form this season, and was named player of the month in November following his impressive displays for FC Saint Gallen.
"The Swiss Football League voted diligently in our polls over the past few weeks and that's how Lawrence Ati Zigi was also voted player of the first round - Congratulations!" wrote the Swiss League on Instagram.

Ati Zigi helped St Gallen finish the first round in third place, after making 58 saves. The Swiss League will return on January 23, with the Ghanaian expected to play a key role for his club.
The 26-year-old was Ghana's first-choice goalkeeper at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He played in all three games, although his country exited the tournament at the group stage.
Ati Zigi nominated for award
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Black Stars goalkeeper Ati Zigi has been nominated for the best player award in the first round of Switzerland's top flight league.
The Ghana international has been in outstanding form for FC St Gallen, who sit third on the league table as of the winter break.
