  • NBA fans have reacted to Golden State Warriors' latest capitulation against the Brooklyn Nets
  • Most fans said the Warriors were missing their starters Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins
  • The Nets beat the Warriors 143-113 and scored 91 in the first half, which is a franchise record

A depleted Golden State Warriors suffered another blowout loss to the Brooklyn Nets, losing 113-143 a day after losing by 38 at Madison Square Garden to the New York Knicks.

The Warriors have now lost three of their last ten games and are below .500, a disappointing return after winning their seventh NBA title a few months ago.

Steve Kerr's side were missing five important rotation players. The defeat in Brooklyn sees them slip 3-16 on the road. Overall, they are 15-18 and tip off an eight-game homestand.

However, with Stephen Curry out for a few more weeks, there are no signs things will change given some of those games are not a walk in the park, per Bleacher Report.

The Warriors finished the game with 21 turnovers which resulted in 26 Nets points. Furthermore, the Nets hammered the Warriors in the first half, scoring a franchise-record 91 points.

Fan reaction to Warriors' defeat

Fans on social media were unforgiving, especially with the dreadful first half. The 40-point differential is also the largest halftime deficit by a reigning champion in NBA history, per ESPN.

@tongzki said Kevin Durant and the Nets should've scored more.

"I am actually disappointed with the Nets. 40-point lead against this lineup? I expected more."

@takeswithtoxi3 said the loss was insignificant since they were playing squad players.

"They have three bench players tonight bro…"

@cl3va4 joked that Kerr's side would be bad in the WNBA without two-time MVP Stephen Curry.

"Warriors would be a 5th seed in the wnba without curry."

@A1_likethesauce said most of their players were out and the defeat was justifiable.

"No Steph, Klay, Wiggins.. they started 3 PFs and Poole plus some dude that averages 5 points a game lol."

@hesirl_ said Curry remains one of the most important players in the league.

"this just shows Steph is the most impactful player in the league. second he goes down they turn into a G- League team."

@Janitraaaaa said the defense that catapulted them to the NBA championship is non-existent.

"The hustle defense that we showed last season has gone."

@StephGotNext4 said the defeat was a wakeup call.

"This team chose the rookies over Stephen Curry's health. Glad we are getting destroyed."

The Warriors welcome Memphis Grizzlies on Christmas Day in a mouth-watering clash, a rematch of last year's playoffs.

Jazz stun the Warriors

Sports Brief earlier reported on the Warriors losing to the Utah Jazz following a last-second collapse.

With 7.8 seconds remaining on the clock, Ty Jerome inbounded the ball to Jordan Poole. Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Kelly Olynyk pressured the Warriors guard, knocking the ball out of his hands.

The mistake resulted in Simone Fontecchio dunking on the other end, putting the hosts up one. In a heartbeat, the Warriors had lost.
