According football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, the French president was hugely impressed by Amrabat describing him as the best midfielder at the World Cup.

"Been told France president Emmanuel Macron has visited Morocco’s dressing room after the game and told Sofyan Amrabat that he has been “the best midfielder of the tournament” in front of all the squad," wrote Romano on Twitter.

Meanwhile, President Macron is noted for facilitating Mbappe's recent deal with Paris Saint Germain and there are reports he is trying to convince Amrabat to the French capital.

Amrabat is reportedly on the radar of the French giants following his exploits at the World Cup.

Amrabat to join PSG

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Nordin Amrabat, elder brother of Sofyan, has suggested Paris Saint Germain as the best destination for the Morocco international.

Sofyan has been one of the standout players in the 2022 World Cup, helping the Atlas Lions reach the quarterfinals, the fourth African nation and the first Arab country to reach this stage of the Mundial.

Currently, on the books of Serie A side Fiorentina, the 26-year-old midfield linchpin has appeared on the radar of top European clubs with Liverpool reportedly leading the race for his signature.

Liverpool interested in Amrabat

Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool have made their first efforts towards signing talented Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Amrabat is currently attached to Fiorentina in the Serie A, but that might not be the case in the summer as the English club are highly interested in his services.

The 26-year-old has been one of the standout players in Qatar, and his performances - especially against Spain in the Round of 16 - have attracted interest from a number of European giants.
