  • Sofyan Amrabat's impressive performance at the World Cup has courted the interest of top European clubs
  • Among the host of clubs circling around the Morocco international, Liverpool is believed to be in the lead for his signature
  • The 26-year-old midfielder is expected to feature in Morocco's titanic quarterfinal tie against Portugal

Nordin Amrabat, elder brother of Sofyan, has suggested Paris Saint-Germain as the best destination for the Morocco international.

Sofyan has been one of the standout players in the 2022 World Cup, helping the Atlas Lions reach the quarterfinals, the fourth African nation and the first Arab country to reach this stage of the Mundial.

Currently, on the books of Serie A side Fiorentina, the 26-year-old midfield linchpin has appeared on the radar of top European clubs with Liverpool reportedly leading the race for his signature.

Nordin explained in an interview with L’Équipe that he wanted his brother to move to the French club because he would “suit the club very well”.
He said as quoted by Get French Football News that the “World Cup is worth the spotlight of the Champions League” and that his brother is currently “in the spotlight on the biggest stage”.
Nordin, who currently plays for AEK Athens, romanticized a formidable partnership with Marco Verratti, before stating: “So Nasser Al-Khelaifi [president of PSG] if you read my words, take my brother!”

Liverpool target Sofyan Amrabat

Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool have made their first efforts towards signing talented Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Amrabat is currently attached to Fiorentina in the Serie A, but that might not be the case in the summer as the English club are highly interested in his services.

The 26-year-old has been one of the standout players in Qatar, and his performances - especially against Spain in the Round of 16 - have attracted interest from a number of European giants.

Amrabat takes swipe at Spain

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has stoked some fires by reposting some controversial Inasgram stories trolling Spain's trio Pedri Gonzalez, Gavi and Sergio Busquests.

Amrabat was part of the Morocco team that dumped Spain out of the FIFA World Cup to add to the many surprises we've had so far in Qatar.

The Atlas Lions have been the tournament's surprise package after beating Belgium and frustrating Croatia in the group stage to finish first.
