England's tasty 2022 World Cup quarter-final encounter with France has dominated the headlines this week.

The France winger has been in stellar form in Qatar, and the Three Lions have probably devised several plans on how to stop him.

Mbappe is leading the goal scoring charts in Qatar with five goals. He has scored in all but one game, and will be looking to inspire his nation to another win to reach the semi-finals.

The Mbappe vs Walker debate has also dominated social media discussion, with some suggesting the Manchester City defender will be key to stopping the Paris Saint-Germain star.

However, the England right-back has downplayed this talk. His pace and physicality will probably play a huge part against Mbappe, but the 23-year-old has shown why he can be unstoppable.

The PSG forward showed against Poland that he can score goals from nothing.

Evra: how to stop Mbappe

Evra has said that if Mbappe finds it hard to play against Walker on the left, he will move to the middle.

He told Betfair via Goal that Harry Maguire and John Stones will struggle if the French wonderboy plays through the middle.

"Walker can be confident and say he's got him, he's fast, he's strong, but Mbappe will find a way to escape. I hope he moves into the centre, because no disrespect to them, but the two centre-backs for England won't be able to deal with him."

The ex-Manchester United captain added that England could look to nullify Mbappe by being physical with him.

"To stop him when he's in the centre, you have to be close to him every time, you have to frustrate him, foul him - he doesn't like to be fouled - but it's going to be difficult to stop him.”

Mbappe has netted 33 goals and 23 assists in 63 appearances for the two-time World Cup winners, according to Transfermarkt.

These two teams drew 1-1 in their last competitive meeting at Euro 2012. France beat England 2-1 in Euro 2004, while the Three Lions toppled Les Bleus 3-1 in their last World Cup clash in 1982, according to Sporting News.

Cash on playing against Mbappe

Sports Brief earlier reported on Poland's right-back Matty Cash giving insight on Mbappe and what playing against the star is like.

Cash came up against Mbappe and although the French golden boy scored twice, the Aston Villa defender did relatively well.

“In real life, he’s burning my legs - that’s the difference. It’s a massive difference. When he stands you up and moves, he does it really well."
