On the way out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Cameroon made history with its victory over Brazil, becoming the first African nation to defeat La Seleccao at a tournament

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon made history in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Group match against Brazil in Qatar.

They not only became the first African team to defeat La Seleccao at the global showpiece event but also the first to not lose against the South Americans. Up to that point, Brazil had not much as drawn with or lost to a team from the continent in the tournament. Cameroon, the only team from Africa to have ever beaten Brazil - 2003 FIFA Confederations - made it two wins against their esteemed opponents.

Samuel Eto'o: Cameroon FA boss thanks mother for support during tough times at World Cup

Samuel Eto'o has thanked his supportive mother for being beside him during the difficult moments at the World Cup in Qatar.

The Cameroon Football Federation chief has come under intense pressure after a poor start to the World Cup coupled with disciplinary issues in camp, leading to the sacking of first-choice goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The five-times African champions became the team from the continent to beat Brazil at the World Cup and could have advanced had Serbia draw with Switzerland.
