  • Paris Saint-Germain boss insists that Kylian Mbappe is not above the club despite his rumoured 'executive powers' in Paris
  • Reports emerged last month that the 23-year-old is not happy at the club and wants to move in the winter transfer window

Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier has stressed Kylian Mbappe does not receive preferential treatment at the club.

Mbappe, who opted against joining Real Madrid to ink a lucrative three-year contract extension with PSG, was rumoured to have received 'special powers' at the club after renewing his stay with the Parisians.

According to multiple speculations, the 23-year-old World Cup winner was given executive powers, with many football fans acknowledging him as the de facto 'sporting director' of the club.

However, dismissing such reports, coach Christophe Galtier admitted Mbappe personifies PSG's project but was quick to note the Frenchman is not 'above the club.'

"He embodies the project, there can be no doubt. But when I say that he embodies the project, it is not that he is above the club,'' Galtier told RMC Sport via GOAL.

The former AS Monaco prodigy has linked up with the French national squad for the soon-to-start FIFA World Cup and will be hoping to help Les Bleus defend their title in Qatar.

Mbappe appears on Man United radar

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Although the Ronaldo saga is yet to be resolved, Manchester United are already making preparations for his replacement.
