The 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be starting in less than 10 days with fans all over the planet waiting for the kickoff of the most prestigious football championship.

World Cup is been played every four years and France are the reigning champions of the tournament having defeated Croatia in the final of the Russia 2018 edition.

French people will be relying on the likes of Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe to make them proud at the 2022 World Cup.

1. Victor Osimhen

Qatar could have been a breakout tournament for Osimhen who has scored 36 goals in 72 games for Napoli since his arrival from Lille in the summer of 2020.

But the Super Eagles failed to qualify losing the playoffs to Ghana.

2. Mohamed Salah

The Liverpool striker will not be happy watching the 2022 World Cup on television no thanks to Senegal who beat Egypt in the playoffs.

3. Marco Verratti

Verratti was unable to prevent Italy from crashing out of World Cup qualifying at the hands of minnows North Macedonia.

4. Riyad Mahrez

The Manchester City star is another star who will not be in Qatar for the World Cup.

Aafter Algeria's 1-0 win in Cameroon, the north Africans were then sensationally upset in the second leg, losing 2-1 in Blida to miss out on World Cup qualification on the away-goals rule.

5. Erling Haaland

The Manchester City striker has been impressive so far this season firing goals, but his country failed to qualify for the World Cup as they ended up third in their group behind the Netherlands and Turkey.

Aboubakar makes list as Cameroon release squad

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Rigobert Song, who is the coach of the Cameroonian national team, released list of his final squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Cameroon are one of the highest-rated African nations in football, and the Indomitable Lions will want to make the continent proud at the World Cup.

In the last African Cup of Nations which they hosted, Cameroon were beaten in the semi-final by Senegal before they went on to win the third place match by beating Egypt.

Vincent Aboubakar proved himself at the AFCON as one of the best strikers in Africa, and the world will be waiting to see what he can do when the competition commences in Qatar.
