Aston Villa vs Manchester United Premier League clash was marked with dramatic scenes as players clashed midway through the match.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Tyrone Mings sparked the huge brawl after the duo wrestled each other to the ground.

According to The Sun, Ronaldo came to blows with the English star while the Red Devils were on the attack.

Ronaldo, who was captaining United during the clash, was attempting to hold off Mings in a bid to create some space, only for the pair to become entrapped in the process.

The veteran striker eventually wrestled the Aston Villa defender to the ground, sparking outrage from the Villa players, who quickly swarmed him.

The centre referee swung into action immediately, subjecting the incident to a VAR check for violent conduct.

Ronaldo and Mings were subsequently shown a yellow card as Anthony Taylor calmed the situation.

Aston Villa sink Man United

Meanwhile, Aston Villa came out on top after the Sunday encounter as they condemned United to a 3-1 embarrassing loss.

Villa needed just seven minutes into the kick-off to open the scoring through Leon Bailey, before Lucas Digne doubled the advantage in the 11th minute.

United pulled one back moments before the break via Jacob Ramsey's own goal, only for the Villa star to restore his side's two-goal advantage in the 49th minute.

The Red Devils' defeat leaves them sitting fifth on the log with 23 points, three points behind fourth-placed Newcastle United.
