Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman Nominated for Prestigious Award in the Serie A

Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman have both made it to EA's five-man shortlist for the FIFA 23 Serie A player of the month award for October 2022.

These two Super Eagles stars have been impressive so far this season in the Italian Serie A for their clubs.

Osimhen in particular has been the shinning light this term for Napoli who are topping the table and have been tipped to win the Serie A title.

AC Milan striker Rafa Leao, Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic Savic, and Nicolo Barella of Inter are the other players who have been named as nominees for this award.

Osimhen scored 5 goals for the current league leaders Napoli in just three appearances for Luciano Spaletti's side in October.

Lookman on the other hand netted four goals for Atalanta in the month last month.

Victor Osimhen finally speaks

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen finally reacted to his first club career hat-trick that he scored against Sassuolo, thereby recording his name in the history books of the Italian Serie A.

The Super Eagles man has so far this season proven himself as one of the best strikers in Europe and his performances have made him a target for many clubs.

Clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal and Spurs are said to be interested in the signing of Osimhen when the January 2022 transfer window opens.

In the game against Sassuolo, Napoli recorded a 4-0 win which helped them to maintain their top position on the Serie A standings.

Osimhen's three goals against Sassuolo made him become the fifth African to net a Serie A hat-trick, after Liberia’s George Weah, Cameroon’s Patrick M'boma, Egypt’s Mohamed Salah and Senegal’s Keita Balde.
