Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven has appeared to send out a subtle dig to Arsenal ahead of the two side's clash on Thursday.

The two teams will meet at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday in a rescheduled Europa League match. The match was initially set for September but was postponed after Queen Elizabeth II's passing.

The PSV social media admin has now uploaded an image of attacking midfielder Xavi Simons celebrating a goal, with a style that has become synonymous with Arsenal's lead striker Gabriel Jesus.

The caption read:

"Calling Arsenal, is Gabriel Jesus home?"

Fans have now called on Eddie Nketiah to go ahead and score on Thursday and respond to their opponents with a sly remark. Nketiah is almost certain to start, to allow Jesus some rest as fixtures continue to come at a fast rate.

Simons has reinvented his career after stints at Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. The 19-year-old currently has 8 goals and three assists in the top-flight league.

Nottingham troll on Wolves backfired

Sports Brief had reported that Nottingham Forest succumbed to their sixth Premier League loss in seven games after they went 1-0 down to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, 15 October.

Forest have struggled to keep up with the tempo of the Premier League after gaining promotion, despite signing close to 20 new players.

They walked into their fixture at Molineux looking to get points off fellow strugglers Wolves, who were also languishing in the relegation zone.

Before the game, the social media admin decided to take a low dig at Wolves' announcement video of Diego Costa. The former Chelsea striker had joined Wolves after the club lost new signing Sasa Kalajdzic.
