  • Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski are among the players who have previously scored some of the fastest hat-tricks in Champions League history
  • However, it is Mohamed Salah who now holds that record following his heroics during Liverpool's 7-1 win over Rangers
  • The Egyptian star scored three goals within six minutes and 12 seconds to set the record for the fastest treble in UCL history
  • The record was previously held by Bafétimbi Gomis, who scored a hat-trick in eight minutes back in 2011

Mohamed Salah set the Champions League ablaze on Wednesday night, October 12, with a spectacular performance against Rangers.

The Egypt international came off the bench in the second half of the match, staged at the Ibrox Stadium, to net a stunning hat-trick as Liverpool mauled the Scottish giants 7-1.

Salah was forced to start the match as a substitute after Jurgen Klopp opted to line up with Darwin Nunez and Roberto Firmino in the attack.

The ex-Roma forward was only introduced with 22 minutes left on the clock, coming on in place of Nunez.
