Ronaldo started the match from the bench, with Erik ten Hag opting to start Anthony Martial up front to lead the attack.
However, Martial could not see out the first half of the match after he picked an injury, with Ronaldo introduced in his place.

The Portuguese talisman wasted no time in making an impact as he handed United the lead with a minute left before the interval.
The goal helped him hit a fresh milestone in his career as he became the first footballer on the planet to score 700 goals at the club level.
The achievement sparked another debate on who, between Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, is better.

But while speaking about Ronaldo's history-making goal, Lampard was quick to highlight the forward's incredible achievement as a footballer.
According to the former midfielder, Ronaldo and Messi are undeniably the greatest players to grace the game.
"He is one of the greatest players that has graced the game, ever, in an era when we have had himself and Lionel Messi," Daily Mail quoted Lampard saying.
