FootballKaizer Chiefs Boss Bobby Motaung and Super Agent Rob Moore in Media War of Words Over Njabulo Blom
- Njabulo Blom's uncertain stay at Kaizer Chiefs has led to nastiness between the interested parties
- The club's football manager Bobby Motaung and Blom's agent have been sniping at each other in the media
- The player and the club have reached an impasse in contract amendment negotiations
A war of words has broken out in the media between Kaizer Chiefs football manager and renowned player agent Rob Moore.
This is over the promising Njabulo Blom, who is represented by Moore. Negotiations over a contract extension have reached a deadlock between both clubs.
According to Goal quoting an interview on Metro FM, Moore said about what he described as his player being underpaid:
“Blom earns less than a lot of players in the Kaizer Chiefs starting 11 and he has proven himself and paid his dues. He now wants to negotiate based on what he has achieved. I would like to say this, and really I am not trying to sound arrogant, and it must not be taken the wrong way, but I have been in this game for a little while. When it comes to negotiations I like to do my research, I like to have certain yardsticks I measure against.”

This did not go down well with the very outspoken Motaung, who according to The Citizen responded on Ukhozi FM:
“Blom is still our player and I don’t think he is going anywhere anytime soon. We are now speaking to the boy and his parents and are quite hopeful to reach an agreement soon. We are not speaking to the snotty man who speaks big English.”
Mixed reactions to Kermit Erasmus going to Orlando Pirates from Mamelodi Sundowns amid Kaizer Chiefs' interest
Local football continues to shake following Kermit Erasmus' latest move.
The 32-year-old striker has returned to Orlando Pirates after being given the green light by Mamelodi Sundowns, where he was completely out of favour. Erasmus had also been strongly linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, but it turns out the Amakhosi cooled their interest in him.
Erasmus departed the Buccaneers for French club Rennes after a successful stint between 2013 and 2016. The 32-year-old centre-forward made 80 appearances for the Buccaneers between 2013 and 2016, scoring 21 times for the Soweto giants.
